About Foxes

The smallest member of the dog family, foxes are found throughout the Americas, Eurasia, and Africa, inhabiting mostly forest, chaparral & desert regions. Most foxes feeds on rabbits, birds" eggs, fruit, large insects, and carrion. They mate in midwinter, and following a 49-56 day gestation period, Vixen bears 2-8 cubs in a den that is frequently an enlarged groundhog hole.
